2. EB FLUE GAS TREATMENT SYSTEM

Electron beam process removes SO2 and Nox simultaneously from flue gas. By irradiation with accelerated electrons, SO2 and Nox are oxidized to yield sulphuric acid(H2SO4) and nitric acid(HNO3). There acids are neutralized by ammonia, and a submicron aerosol consisting of ammonium sulphate and nitrate is formed. The product is collected by suitable filters and may be used for the production of agricultural fertilizers.
